三木俊雄 略歴
1963年 大阪府生まれ。
1986年 関西大学卒業。
1986年 バークリー音楽大学にスカラーシップを獲て留学。リッチ−･コール･アワードを受賞。
サックスをビル･ピア ース、ジョ−･ヴィオラに、アレンジをハーブ･ポメロイ、フィル･ウィルソンに師事。
ロイ･ハーグローブ(tp)、ジョシュア･レッドマン、マーク･ターナー、シェーマス･ブレイク(ts)、アントニオ･ハート、山田穣(as)
ジェフ･キーザ−、大西順子(p)、大坂昌彦、ホルヘ･ロッシー(ds)、レイラ・ハザウェイ、ポーラ･コール(vo)らとセッションを重ねる。
1989年 同大学プロフェッショナルミュージック科卒業後ニューヨークに移り住み、約半年間滞在。
その間に、ビル･エバンス(sax)、大西順子(p)、大坂昌彦(ds)らとフランスをツアー。
1990年帰国 約1年間 大阪を中心に、古谷充(as)、東原力哉(ds)らと活動の後、1991年から東京で活動を始める。
故 世良譲、佐山雅弘、辛島文雄、塩谷哲(p)、宮之上貴昭(g)らをはじめ、さまざまなセッション、ジミー･スコット(vo)の来日公演および
1996年から自己の率いる10ピースバンド『フロントページ・オーケストラ』の活動を続け、
2004年2月 アルバム『Harmony of the Soul』をホヮッツニュー・レコードよりリリース。ジャズシーンのみならず多くの注目を集め、
2004年11月 R＆BシンガーDOUBLEとのコラボレーションによるジャズアルバム『Life is Beautiful』をフォーライフ・レコードよりリリース。
オリコン・アルバムチャート１４位（うち、一曲が収録されている『Yosui Tribute』は９位）をマーク。
2006年11月 megのデビューアルバム『Grace』をヴァーヴ／ユニバーサル・ミュージックよりリリース
2007年6月 ヤマハ主催ハママツ・ジャズ・ウィークのメインアクトに出演。
2008年10月 ギタリスト押尾コータローのコラボアルバム『You & Me』（ソニー・ミュージック・エンターテイメント）に参加。
2013年10月 フロントページ・オーケストラの2ndアルバム『Stop&Go』を55レコードよりリリース。ジャズライフ誌上2013年度 Album of the Year 第３位を獲得。
2016年より毎年 フジ・ロック・フェスティヴァルにて G&Gオーケストラのホーンセクションとしてグリーンステージのクロージング・アクトを務める。
2017年７月 フジ・ロック・フェスティヴァルにて、フロントページ・オーケストラとししてカフェ・ド・パリのトリを務める。
そのプレーと共に作曲･アレンジでも高い評価を受けている。
他にも現在、小曽根真率いる『No Name Horses』のメンバーとして
06年ニューヨークで行われたＩＡＪＥ
09年フランス ラロック・ダンテロン国際ピアノフェスティヴァル、の他、
スコットランド エディンバラ・ジャズフェスティヴァル、シンガポール モザイク・ミュージックフェスティヴァル
ブルーノート、ビルボード全国ツアーにも参加し、またアルバムごとに楽曲を提供する。
スイング・ジャーナル誌人気投票において、
テナーサックス部門第３位、
コンポーザ−・アレンジャー部門第５位、('08)
ビッグバンド部門においてフロントページ・オーケストラが第６位('08)を獲得している。
なお1997年4月から東京FM デジタル衛星放送チャンネル、
ミュージックバードch8にてジャズ番組『オープンセサミ』のパーソナリティーを11年間、
その後継番組『ライブ・ワークス』を4年間務める。

Toshio Miki Biography
Born in Osaka, Japan in 1963.
After graduating from Kansai University in 1986, studied in Berklee College of Music with scholarship. Received Rich Cole award.
Studied saxophone with Joe Viola and Bill Pierce, arranging with Herb Pomeroy and Phil Wilson.
Played with Roy Hargrove (tp), Joshua Redman, Mark Turner, Seamus Blake (ts), Antonio Hart (as), Goeff Keezer (p), Lalah Hathaway, Pola Cole (vo) and many others.
After graduating from Berklee in 1989, moved to NewYork.
During this period, toured in France with Bill Evans (sax), Junko Onishi (p) and Masahiko Osaka(ds)
Returned to Japan in 1990.
Started to play in Osaka for about one year with Takashi Furuya (as) Rikiya Higashihara (ds) before moving to Tokyo in 1991.
Formally played with Yuzuru Sera Masahiro Sayama, Fumio Karashima, Satoru Shionoya(p),
Japan tour with Jimmy Scott (vo), and many other various artists.
Formed and continuing activities of own 10-piece band "Front Page Orchestra" since 1996.
Released the 1st. album "Harmony of the Soul", by What'sNew Record in 2004.
2nd.album "Stop & Go" by 55 Records received 3rd prize on "Jazzlife magazine Album of the Year" in 2013.
Play at FUJI Rock Festival with horn section of G&G Orchestra at "Green Stage" since 2016. Also Front Page Orchestra played at "Cafe de Paris" in 2017
Attracted a lot of attention not only in jazz scene.
As a current member of "No Name Horses" led by Makoto Ozone (piano),
providing original music for each album, performed at IAJE concert in New York in 2006,
Edinburgh jazz festival in Scotland in 2009,
the International Piano Festival La Roque-d'Antheron in France,2009&2010,
Mosaic Music festival in Singapore, and on domestic tours.
Ranked in Swing Journal magazine reader's poll for these ten years.
3rd in Tenor saxophone, 5th in Composer - Arranger, Front Page Orchestra ranked 6th in the Big Band category.
For over 10 years as a host of "Open Sesame", a jazz radio program on Tokyo FM digital satellite channel Musicbird ch8 since 1997.
Currently teaching as part-time Professor of Art Music Department in Shobi University.
